M5 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Serpens from Earth 24,500 years-light and you can also find with binoculars at the coordinates

M5 ha magnitudine apparente di 5,6, dimensioni apparenti di 23' e dimensioni reali di 160 anni-luce.

L'ammasso globulare contiene tra i 100.000 e 500.000 stelle e diverse centinaia di queste sono stelle variabili del tipo RR Lyrae la cui variabilità varia in un periodo di 12 ore.

M5 has apparent magnitude of 5.6, the apparent size of 23 'and the actual size of 160 light-years. 
The globular cluster contains between 100,000 and 500,000 stars and several hundred of these are of RR Lyrae variable stars whose variability varies over a 12 hour period.

La foto di M5 l'ho scattata nella notte del 21/05/2014 dal giardino della mia casa in una zona della periferia di Treviso, a fuoco diretto con il telescopio Newton Celestron C8 su montatura HEQ5 Pro e Reflex D5000.
La foto è risultato di 4 frame da 60 sec a 800ISO, 30 dark e 7 flat.

The photo of the M5 have taken on the night of 05.21.2014 from the garden of my house in an area on the outskirts of Treviso, direct fire with the Newton telescope Celestron C8 on HEQ5 Pro mount and SLR D5000. 
The photo is the result of 4 frames of 60 sec at 800ISO, 30 dark and flat 7.
