M27 Nebulosa Manubrio

M27
NEBULOSA MANUBRIO

The Dumbbell Nebula is a famous planetary nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula known as M27 and NGC 6853.
Charles Messier observed it in 1764 and was the first planetary nebula to be discovered.
It is located on the border of the constellation of the Arrow at about 3 ° north of the star Gamma Saggitae.

M27 was the first astronomical object that I photographed, exactly the 08.12.2013, and with whom I have created this blog.
To see the very detailed post last year, with very comprehensive explanations of the planetary nebula and the different variables shooting stars, I recommend you go to see and click on the following link: M27

The variable star V742 CEP is a variable star button that changes its brightness in a periodic.
The light curve of variable stars is not symmetrical as that of the Cepheids (another class of pulsating variable stars) and has a very rapid increase in brightness and a slow descent.
In particular, the star V742 CEP is a variable star of type RRAB with similar or slightly greater mass than the Sun but near the end of his life, then the core is no longer composed primarily of hydrogen, but helium.
Variable stars RRAB buttons are part of Population II and are concentrated in globular clusters and in the galactic halo.

As for the variable star V737 CEP, which I recently studied, the variable star V742 CEP did not present observations in the AAVSO website and did not have ID UID.
This is why I have asked immediately activating a code observational 000-blk-990 and the creation by the staff of 'AAVSO of the photographic field for photometric study.
In record time, just a few hours, I got the code and UID card photometric idchart 13689AP.

V742 CEP has a magnitude range of from 12.6 to 13.7 over a period of 0.43092 days and a temperature increase of '11% of the period.

For the acquisition of the images I used the telescope newtons 8 "reflex nikon d5000 without filters on HEQ5 Pro mount.
To see all my purchase that I did and I shall make my code you can search the site AAVSO observer TALA.

The graph of the variable star V742 CEP is the sum of two nights of observation, the day 10/24/2014 and 28/10/2014 the day.

24/10/2014 The day I bought for just 53' because I have divided the observations with the variable V737 CEP and I still managed to capture frames of the minimum of the variable.
28/10/2014 While I have devoted all my time available for the V742 CEP 1:57.

Soon another study with another variable star.
The next variable star of which I will write another article will be presumed eclipsing variable.
I wrote probably because there are observation, do not know exactly the range of magnitude and do not know the term.

A presto,
Cieli sereni.                                                                                                           Alberto Tieppo.

V737 CEP BINARIA ad ECLISSE

V737 CEP

L'ampiezza luminosa è generalmente inferiore a 0,8 magnitudine.

The star V737 Cep is a binary system of the type W Ursa Majoris, eclissanti variable stars with periods less than 24 hours.
The system is formed by stars ellipsoidal in contact that create a curve of light in which it is difficult or impossible to determine the instant of start and end of the eclipse.
The minimum depth of the primary and secondary are the same or nearly the same, and vary according to the inclination of the binary system with respect to which we observe.
The amplitude of light is generally less than 0.8 magnitude.
The components of this system are generally of spectral type F or G or more advanced.

For the star V737 Cep there were no comments received in the largest site of global variable stars, the 'AAVSO's why I decided to collect data on this binary star photometers.
Finally, I enrolled myself to 'AAVSO and I have a code of my own observation:TALA
V737 Cep presents a period of just over 7h (0.298755), with a range of variability between the magnitudes 11,95 and 12,33.

For the acquisition of the images I used the telescope newtons 8 "with Nikon D5000 SLR unfiltered photometric HEQ5 PRO.

The first round of data collection was carried out on 28.09.2014 with its dark and flat for a total of 1:37 acquisition.
I was able to capture the moment of the minimum and the difference between the observed and the calculated minimum (O-C diagram).
The minimum is found of 1'05 "shorter than the calculated result of the binary system has accelerated its rotational motion.

The second session of data collection was carried out on 24.10.2014 with its dark and flat for a total of 1:27 acquisition.
Unfortunately due to the weather conditions are not able to observe the time to a minimum and then to do the O-C diagram.

The third round of data collection was carried out on 10.27.2014 with its dark and flat for a total of 3:38 acquisition.
I was able to capture the moment of the minimum and the difference between the observed and the calculated minimum (O-C diagram).
The minimum is found of 1'19 "shorter than the calculated and the difference between the calculated minimum the 28.09.2014 is 14".
This means that the system is continuing to accelerate its orbital period.

The fourth session of data collection was carried out on 10.29.2014 with its dark and flat for a total of 2:58 acquisition.

A presto con un altro report osservativo.

M63 GALASSIA GIRASOLE

M63
GALASSIA GIRASOLE

M63 is a spiral galaxy known as NGC 5055 and as "Sunflower Galaxy" due to its resemblance.
This magnificent galaxy is in the constellation of the Hunting Dogs coordinates:

AR:      13h 15m 49.28s
DEC:   +42° 01' 46.5''

M63 is at a distance from Earth of 37 million light years and its dimensions are very similar to our Milky Way, about 90,000 light years.
The Sunflower Galaxy is not very easy visual observation with telescopes of less than 150mm having regard to its magnitude of 9.3 and apparent size of 10'x6 '

M63 is a spiral galaxy of type Sb or Sc in which the arms are much more extensive in the nucleus with a large amount of gas and dust having a population of old stars and young stars arranged in an ordered and balanced.

In May 1971, there was a Type Ia supernova in the arms of M63 which reached magnitude 11.8

M51 is a set of two distinct interacting galaxies found in the constellation of the Hunting Dogs.
The larger galaxy and showy is also called NGC 5194 and is a typical spiral galaxy, while the smaller galaxy is also called NGC 5195 and is connected to the parent galaxy through an arm of dust.

M51 si trova a coordinate
AR    13h 29m 52.7s
DEC +47° 11' 43''

M51 is located at coordinates
RA 13h 29m 52.7s
DEC + 47 ° 11 '43' '

and is 31 million light-years with an apparent magnitude of 9.0 and apparent size of 11.2 'x 6.9' while the real size should be about 100,000 light-years.

The photo of the M51 I have taken on the night of 06.09.2014 from the garden of my house in an area on the outskirts of Treviso, direct fire with the Newton telescope Celestron C8 on HEQ5 Pro mount and SLR D5000.
The photo is the result of 21 frames from 60 sec to 800ISO, 12 dark and 21 flat

As you can see from the picture, I've done and posted, you will notice that most of the luminosity of M51 is due to the presence of young star clusters placed in the arms of the galaxy, while the soft arm that binds the two galaxies is composed of gal and powder.

To date, have been observed and studied three supernovae:

in 1994 to 13.5 mag
in 1995 to 14.0 mag
in 2011 to 14.0 mag

From the map I downloaded from Simbad you can see the main stellar objects of the two interacting galaxies M51.
HII regions of high star formation, Nine, IR object, X ray.

MIZAR e ALCOR

Mizar and Alcor are stars located in the constellation Ursa Major very famous for being one of the few visual double stars.
The brightest star is Mizar and the fainter companion is Alcor.
It can be observed easily with the naked eye, with binoculars you can see very well and with a small telescope you have the best vision.
You will immediately detect by looking at the Big Dipper, below I have included a photo taken with the D5000 SLR 800ISO time exposure to 20'' and to facilitate the whole thing with photoshop I added the lines demarcating the constellations.

Mizar is a white star of spectral class A1 which has an apparent magnitude of 2.1, and the earth is about 85 light-years.
It has a mass 2.5 times greater than the Sun and a luminosity 35 times higher.
Not far away, at 11'48 '' is the companion fainter Alcor.
The actual distance between the two stars is between 0.5 and 1.5 light-years.
Alcor has a spectral class A6 with an apparent magnitude of 3.88 and a mass 1.6 solar and a luminosity 35 times greater

In their turn, Mizar and Alcor are double stars then the entire star system is composed of 6 stars.
For a better understanding I have included a photo of me, drawn with photoshop, which explains in a simple and intuitive the whole star system
